For many girls in our community, a monthly period can mean missed lessons, discomfort and quiet embarrassment. When sanitary pads are out of reach, girls stay at home, fall behind in class and lose confidence in themselves.
Through our Menstrual Health, Hygiene and Dignity programme, the Cistern of Hope Foundation visits schools every month to distribute sanitary pads directly to girls. Each visit is also a moment of encouragement, reminding every girl that she belongs in the classroom and that her dignity matters.
Every month we provide sanitary pads to more than 200 girls. This steady, reliable support helps reduce absenteeism, discomfort and stigma, and supports girls to continue participating fully in school and community life.
The need remains great, and we want to reach more schools and more girls. We warmly invite individuals, organisations and well-wishers to partner with us in keeping girls in school, month after month.
