Stepping forward: a young man builds a shoe business

Shoes are something every family needs, from school shoes for children to everyday pairs for work. For this young man, that everyday need has become an opportunity to build a small business of his own.
The Cistern of Hope Foundation supports young people to move from waiting for opportunity to creating it. Through encouragement, mentorship and practical support, we help them identify a viable business, get started and keep growing.
Starting small is not a weakness. A carefully chosen stock of shoes, a clear sense of what customers want and the discipline to reinvest earnings can grow into a stable source of income and a foundation for the future.
